Emergency First Response

Emergency First Response (EFR) teaches adult and child CPR and First Aid, as well as the use of Automated External Defibrillators (AED) and Emergency Oxygen to individuals and occupational and community groups. The focus is on helping participants develop the confidence and willingness to act in an emergency.

Emergency First Response courses are taught in over 175 countries and EFR is one of the fastest-growing international CPR, AED and first aid training organizations in the world. Emergency First Response follows the emergency considerations and protocols developed by the members of the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) which includes the American Heart Association.

Emergency First Response courses have been approved by or meet the guidelines for CPR/First Aid training of numerous organizations including the American Council on Exercise, the National Academy of Sports Medicine, Girl Scouts USA and the United States Coast Guard for a merchant mariner license. You can see the full list of organizations here.

We teach:

EFR Care for Children

EFR Primary Care (CPR)

EFR Secondary Care (First Aid)

EFR Workplace (CPR and AED)

The primary and secondary care courses are often taught together and can include AED and emergency oxygen use. We can also teach an integrated primary care, secondary care and care for children course.  See the full list of the topics covered in each course here.

If you, or your organization, is interested in CPR/first aid training, call, email, or fill out the contact form.  We’ll be happy to talk about individual courses or a package of courses that meet your specific needs.

There is no entrance requirement--these courses are open to anyone and everyone (except that secondary care has to follow or be integrated with a primary care course).

Less than half the people trained in CPR/first aid (by any organization) actually step in to help in an emergency situation.  Our objective is to not only to get as many people as possible trained in basic emergency response skills, but to make sure they have the confidence to use those skills if the need arises.
